Our goals are to advance the great game of lacrosse within the Prosper area have fun!

Update: Practices have started; however, the Spring lacrosse registration is still open. There is always room for additional players, especially at the Kinder to Second Grade levels! Email us at prosperyouthlacrosse@gmail with any questions.

Welcome to the 2021 Spring Lacrosse season!

2020 presented us with some unique challenges; however, we worked through them and created a great program for the boys to continue to learn lacrosse including online Zoom workouts, Summer practices, Summer camp and the Fall program. Even in the craziest of times, our lacrosse program is growing.

Coach Pat DeBolt is once again the youth director. He will be installing the practice plans, overseeing all of the teams and running the sidelines when available. He will be assisted by Coach Harley Brown who many of you have met in the Fall. He’s a fantastic addition to Prosper Lacrosse. He’s a former close defenseman at University of Denver and has tremendous lacrosse knowledge to share with our athletes. We're also setting up position specific coaching for our face off specialists and goalies.

Practices started January 19 for 2nd through 8th grade and it's not too late to sign up. Games will begin in February and run through the end of April. We will practice twice a week on the turf fields at Frontier Park. Our home games will be played on those same fields. We will play away games against area teams such as Allen, Frisco, Hebron, etc. We will look to schedule 8+ games for each team.

For Kindergarten and 1st grade, we are creating a new entry level program called PeeWee Lax to help grow the game and keep our kids safe. The coaches will include high school players along with parents. It will be for an hour and half on either Saturday or Sunday. It will consist of 30 minutes of instruction and drills followed by a 45-minute game.  It is a 7-week program starting March 14. The PeeWee Lax registration will be open through March.

Cost/Expected Practice Times:
 - Kindergarten/1st ($100) – Starts in March, days/times TBD
 - 2nd ($225) - Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7:00
 - 3rd/4th ($225) - Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7:00
 - 5th/6th ($325) - Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7:00
 - 7th/8th ($325) - Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-8:00
 - Wall Ball - every player will need one hour of practice on a wall each week. This can be done at home, at the field before/after practice, etc.
*This schedule is preliminary. We are awaiting final confirmation from the city on field use.

Equipment required for the season includes a lacrosse helmet, lacrosse shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, lacrosse stick, mouthpiece, athletic cup and cleats. We've included a list of equipment recommendation on to help with the selections.

The DFW Lacrosse organization we play under requires each player to have a US Lacrosse membership and there will be a place to include it in the registration process. Details and benefits received from the membership can be found here.

In addition, we will need more parent volunteers. I know, this seems like a common topic among youth sports, however we really do need the help. Just like baseball, soccer, etc, we need help at practices, running drills, shagging balls, running sidelines during games, fixing chin straps…  you don’t need experience playing lacrosse to get involved. We have great coaches that will be setting up the drills and teaching the volunteers along the way. Please reach out and let us know if you’re able to help.

And finally, we need volunteers to help with team communications, uniforms (just for the new players or replacement) social media and game day operations. Please raise your hand.

Look forward to a great Spring season!
