Our mission statement: Prosper Youth Lacrosse is a volunteer based, non-profit recreation lacrosse club serving Prosper ISD students (and the surrounding communities without a program) for kindergarten through 8th grade. Our purpose is to grow the sport of lacrosse by giving any child the opportunity to play regardless of their skill level. We will provide opportunities that will increase the skill level of all our players ranging from beginners to the seasoned player by continuously improving and enhancing our coaching standards. Our goals are to advance the great game of lacrosse within the Prosper area while having fun!

Welcome to the 2022 Spring Lacrosse season!
2020 and even into 2021 presented us with some unique challenges; however, we worked through them and created a great program for the boys to continue to learn lacrosse including online Zoom workouts, Summer practices, Summer camps and a great Fall program. We even launch the Peewee program to grow the game at the youngest levels. Even in the craziest of times, our lacrosse program is growing.
Coach Pat DeBolt is once again the youth director. He will be installing the practice plans, overseeing all of the teams and running the sidelines when available. He will be assisted by a number great parents that have stepped up to volunteer as well coaches from Prosper's High School staff. We're also setting up position specific coaching for dodging, defense, face offs and goalies.
Practice days and times are still being ironed out. The plan is to start January 24 for 1st/2nd through 8th grade. Games will begin in late February and run through the end of April. We will practice twice a week on the turf fields at Frontier Park. Granted we might have to expand to grass fields given the numbers of our program and how fast it's growing. Our home games will be played on the turf fields. We will play away games against area teams such as Allen, Frisco, Hebron, etc. We will look to schedule 8+ games for each team.
For Kindergarten and 1st grade, we created a an entry level program called Pee Wee Lax to help grow the game and keep our kids safe. It will include a 45 minute practice once a week for 8-weeks starting after Spring Break. The Pee Wee Lax registration will be open through March. Note, any first grader is welcome to sign up for the 1st/2nd team. The Pee Wee program is designed for those looking to get started but not at a place to wear full pads and helmet. Also, all first year Pee Wee Lax players will be given a free ($60) lacrosse stick!
- Peewee Lax Kinder and 1st ($100) – Starts March 16ish
- 1st/2nd ($225)
- 3rd/4th ($225)
- 5th/6th ($325)
- 7th/8th ($325)
- Wall Ball - every player will need one hour of practice on a wall each week. This can be done at home, at the field before/after practice, etc.
*We do not have our field availablity just yet. We are awaiting final confirmation from the city on field use.
Equipment required for the season includes a lacrosse helmet, lacrosse shoulder pads, gloves, elbow pads, lacrosse stick, mouthpiece, athletic cup and cleats. We've included a list of equipment recommendation on prosperlax.com to help with the selections. Please note the league is requiring NOCSE certified shoulderpads this year. We have collected used equipment over the years and will make everything available to incoming players.
The DFW Lacrosse organization we play under requires each player to have a US Lacrosse membership and there will be a place to include it in the registration process. Details and benefits received from the membership can be found by clicking here.
In addition, we will need more parent volunteers, especially at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade level. I know, this seems like a common topic among youth sports; however, we really do need the help. Just like baseball, soccer, etc, we need help at practices, running drills, shagging balls, running sidelines during games, fixing chin straps… you don’t need experience playing lacrosse to get involved. We have great coaches that will be setting up the drills and teaching the volunteers along the way. Please reach out and let us know if you’re able to help.
And finally, we need volunteers to help with team communications, uniforms (just for the new players or replacement) social media and game day operations. Please raise your hand.
Look forward to a great Spring season!
